Report: CEO says Naftogaz yet to receive Gazprom's transit payment
LONDON, May 20 (PRIME) -- Ukrainian energy company Naftogaz Ukrainy has not received a payment for the transit of gas from Russian gas giant Gazprom for June, CEO Yury Vitrenko told channel Sky News on Friday.
He said that Naftogaz was about to start a dispute over the payment delay and would probably send a claim to an arbitration court.
As per contract with Ukraine, Gazprom is to pump 40 billion cubic meters of gas to the E.U. through the country in 2022, or 109.6 million cubic meters per day. Russia ships gas under the pump or pay condition, which means that it must pay for the unrequited capacity.
